Back Pain

Similar to the neck, low back is also an intricate structure of interconnected and overlapping elements, such as small common complex joints (5 lumbar vertebrae, fused sacrum), shock absorbers (intervertebral discs), supporting muscles, ligaments and other soft tissues, highly sensitive nerves running down into the legs and feet.

Lower back pain is extremely common, 80% of the population experience low back pain atleast once in their lifetime. Due to stressful modern lifestyle, LBA is very commonly seen in young adults through old age, and even school going children.

Most of the back pain cases are non pathological and purely mechanical in origin due to irritation or problem in any of these structures which can cause muscle spasm and pain that either radiates or refers to other parts of the body.

Identifying the symptoms along with the accurate diagnosis of the underlying cause of the pain such as mechanical strain, sciatica, lumbar spondylosis, spondylolisthesis, intervertebral disc prolapsed, sacro ileitis, pyriformitis, stenosis etc… is the first step in obtaining effective pain relief.

Low back muscle spasms are severe and pain may become chronic if left untreated, follow our case studies for more detail info on the management of LBA.
